Passionate About Inspiring Others
Aloha everyone! I'm Olivia Hersey, your (hopefully) soon to be new trainer! Just to tell you a little more about myself and my story, I currently reside in the beautiful city of Honolulu, Hawaii. I have been here going on 6 years now, and have no intention of leaving paradise unless a Tsunami takes out the entire Island, or if someones decides to make the worlds largest pizza, then I'll be going where ever that is (kidding). I moved to Hawaii to finish my undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Science from the University of Hawaii (Go Warriors!). As I was previously pursuing a pre-medical degree at the University of Nevada, Reno (Go Wolfpack!) where I also grew up, and ultimately started to fall in love with health and fitness.
While in my first few years of college, being a pre-med student I had a real affinity for math and science. I loved every chemistry, physiology and anatomy based course I was every placed in. However I quickly began to realize that medicine was not for me, as I worked in a clinical setting as a Phlebotomist for a short time, also shadowing all sorts of physicians and healthcare professionals, I didn't take much of a liking to hospitals. I did however, find myself wanting to take classes more oriented in sports injuries, rehabilitation and nutrition; which is how I ended up in the Kinesiology program at UH. In this time, moving to a new place at such a young age to enter such a rigorous program, I started to neglect my own physical and mental health. I was working HARD in school and made very little time for myself to think about exercise and proper nutrition, even though I was pursuing a degree in health! So it wasn't until almost 30 pounds of weight gain later when I decided that enough was enough, and I hired my first very own personal trainer. Through this process, I learned SO much about how to maintain my health, how to eat properly for my lifestyle, how to hold myself accountable, and even how to deal with stress through exercise instead of turning to food or substance abuse. Learning as much as I did from that trainer lit a fire inside of me to want to teach other people how to better their lives as well.
That all being said, leads me to why I started LivFit Training. I have a passion for not only working out and healthy food, but for people too! I strive to build long lasting relationships with each of my clients so that together we can find a realistic and scientific solution to each of your problems that could be causing a road block between you and your goals. Here I hope that you will find all of the support, guidance, data and accountability you need to finally reach out for the dreams you've always wanted!
